Our staff are the cornerstone of our business. At Mandate Meal Management we believe in bettering and motivating our staff members, ensuring that they are professional, friendly and well qualified. We have created a close-knit family culture within our business with a shared passion for catering and providing a professional service to our clients.

Mandate Meal Management was founded by Richard Mentel in 1990. With over 30 years’ experience in the catering industry Richard’s passion is providing the right food for the right price. He is hands on and has been directly involved with our clientele.
Sibonelo joined Mandate Meal Management in 1998.  He is directly involved in the day to day running of our various catering contracts. With his background in marketing Sibonelo ensures that Mandate Meal Management continues to grow and innovate within the dynamic catering industry. Sibonelo is passionate about uplifting the community and giving back to those less fortunate.
Paul studied Accounting at University and has experience in both auditing and taxation.  He has assisted Mandate Meal Management in strategic planning; implementing controls and systems at both head office and unit level.  He is passionate about the well-being of all staff members.
Graham is currently the CEO of the SPAR GROUP LTD and sits on the Mandate Group Board as a non-executive director providing retail, strategy and marketing experience.
Rohan is Mandate Meal Management’s Regional Operational Manager and offers over 20 years’ experience in the catering industry.  Rohan is passionate about providing efficient service delivery and maintaining client and staff relations.
Alfred has over 23 years’ experience in all sectors of catering. This includes government institutions, hospitals and schools.  He is passionate about staff training, staff welfare and client service.
Gerald joined Mandate Meal Management in 2002 bringing with him over 18 years’ experience in the catering industry. After starting in the Kwa-Zulu Natal Office Gerald moved to Johannesburg in 2007 to manage the company’s Gauteng contracts. He strives for service excellence, building and maintaining client relations and motivating staff.
Ashwin has over 18 years’ experience in the catering industry having started his career as a cashier in 1994, working his way up to a managerial level over the years. He joined Mandate Meal Management in 2010. Ashwin currently operates one of Mandate Meal Management’s biggest canteens and oversees 5 other contracts.

Ashwin has learnt over the years that food and customer services go hand in hand.

Ashleigh is a qualified chartered accountant. She joined Mandate Meal Management in 2012.  Ashleigh is involved in the strategy of Mandate and is a firm believer that if you have a passion for something you can succeed! She strives to find this passion and motivation in all of Mandate’s employees.
